Madhva Navami 2025 date

Madhwa Navami, or Madhva Navami, is an auspicious day dedicated to Madhvacharya, the great religious reformer and commentator on the Brahma Sutras and the Upanishads. In 2025, the date of Madhwa Navami is February 6.  It is observed on 9th day of the Shukla Paksha in Magha Month. Madhvacharya is the exponent of the Dvaita School of philosophy also known as Sad Vaishnavism – Vishnu or Narayana is the Supreme Being. Madhwa Navami Means Avatar Samapti Dinotsavam of Sri Guru Madhvacharya. According to the philosophy of Madhvacharya, Lord Vishnu (Hari) is the Supreme Being and resides in Vaikunta with his consort Shri Lakshmi. The world we see is real and the difference is true. Vishnu is the only independent reality. All living and non living beings are dependent on Vishnu. Souls and world are dependent on Vishnu and is separate from Vishnu. Bhakthi is the only means of attaining Moksha. Writing on the teachings of Madhvacharya, Swami Sivananda Says Renunciation, devotion

Ajiva In Jainism – Non–Spirit

In Jainism, Ajiva is the unconscious or inanimate category of the universe. Ajiva or the non-spirit is one of the everlasting categories of the universe. Jaina religion holds that the whole universe can be brought under two everlasting, uncreated, co-existing but independent categories described as jiva and ajiva. That which has consciousness is jiva and that which has no consciousness but can be touched, tasted, seen and smelt is ajiva. Jiva and ajiva do not correspond to ‘I’ and not ‘I’, but it is an objective classification of things in the universe. The ajiva is the object and Jainism says that as surely as there is a subject that knows so surely, there is an object that is known. The term ajiva is used to denote the five categories of pudgala (matter), kala (time), dharma (motion), adharma (rest) and akasha (space). Of these, dharma, adharma, akasha and kala are arupa (without form) and matter is rupa (with form). Their essential distinction from the jiva is that they as such

Bhagavad Gita Chapter X – Verse 3

He who knows Me as birthless and beginningless, the Bhagavan of the universe, among mortals he is not-deluded and is freed from all sins. (Bhagavad Gita Chapter 10, Verse 3) What does Sri Krishna mean? He says here that those who know Him as birthless and beginningless are free from all sins. Don’t we all know that God is birthless and eternal, without beginning and without end? Don’t we all know that He is the Bhagavan of the universe? How then can Sri Krishna say that those who know this are undeluded and freed from all sins? For though we know all this, we also know very well that we are not free from the delusion of maya; we also know that we are by no means sinless. The answer is, we think we know, but we really don’t know. Our life, our deeds, our words — everything indicates that we do not know God.
