Five Temples with Murtis Installed by Pandavas in Kerala

There are numerous temples in India with murtis that were installed by the Pandava brothers. Pandavas are believed to have installed murtis of Shiva, Vishnu and Durga. There are five temples in central Kerala dedicated to Hindu God Vishnu (Sri Krishna) all which have murtis installed by the Pandavas. The five temples are TrichittattuMahavishnuTemple, PuliyoorSrikrishnaTemple, AranmulaParthasarathyTemple, ThiruvandoorVishnuTemple and ThrikkodithanamTemple.

All these temples are located in and around ChenganoorTown in Kerala, which is an important Railway Station during Sabarimala Pilgrimage.
The murti at TrichittattuMahavishnuTemple was installed by Yudhishtira.
PuliyoorSrikrishnaTemple murti was installed by Bhima
AranmulaParthasarathyTemple murti was installed by Arjuna
ThiruvandoorVishnuTemple murti was installed by Nakula
ThrikkodithanamMahavishnuTemple murti was installed by Sahadeva.

Tithi in Hindu Calendar on March 10, 2012 – Krishna Paksha Dwitiya Tithi orthe second day during the waning phase of moon inHindu calendar and Panchang in all places. It is Krishna Paksha Dwitiya Tithi or the second day during the dark phase of the moon till 11:50 AM on March 10, 2012. Then onwards it is Krishna Paksha Tritiya Tithi or the third day during the waning phase of moon. All time based on India Standard Time.

Note - It is Dwitiya and Tritiya Tithi or the second and third day of waning phase of moon in calendars followed in Maharashtra and Gujarat.

Nakshatra – Hasta or Atham Nakshatra till 5:15 PM on March 10, 2012. Then onwards it is Chitra or Chithirai or Chithira Nakshatram.
Rashi or Moon Sign – Kanya Rashi.
