Kailash Kund Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir

Kailash Kund Yatra is annually held from Bhaderwah in Jammu and Kashmir to the abode of Vasuki Nag (Serpent Vasuki associated with Shiva). Kailash Kund Yatra 2018 is from September 2 to September 9. It is annually held from Krishna Paksha Saptami in Bhadrapad month (August – September). The yatra begins on the seventh day during the waning phase of moon in Bhadrapad and ends on the no moon day in the month as per traditional calendar followed in North India.
Located at an altitude of 14,500 feet, Kailash Kund is a crater lake and remains frozen for greater part of the year. The lake defreeze during the yatra period. A holy dip in the Kailash Kund  helps in redemption of sins. It is also believed that the holy bath during the Bhadrapad month helps in fulfilling wishes.
Kailash Kund is located near Ram Tung, which is around 215 km from Jammu city.
The 22-km Kailash pilgrimage begins from the Shari Vasuki Nag Ji Temple at Gatha Bhaderwah town in Doda District of Jammu and Kashmir.

Pearls of Wisdom – Ramayan

Discharge of one’s duties without desire of outcome is the means of attaining the goal.
Truth, charity, penance, detachment, friendliness, purity, straight forwardness, knowledge and the service to his preceptors are the real characteristics of Sri Ram.
When there is no ego, there is no suffering.
Lust is like a huge tree covered by the creepers of desire. Ramayan
