Goddess Sharika – About Hindu Goddess Sharika

Goddess Sharika is a manifestation of the Mother Goddess or Goddess Shakti. Hindu Goddess Sharika is worshipped mainly in Jammu and Kashmir by the Kashmiri Pandits. She is also known as Jagatamba Sharika Bhagavati, Mahatripursundari, Rajarajeshwari and also as Haer. The Goddess is represented in the form of a Swayambhu Sri Chakra – a Sri Chakra that appeared on its own.The popular belief is that Goddess Sharika appeared on the ninth day during the Shukla Paksha of Ashada month. BSNL Mobile to Connect Yatris during Amarnath Yatra

The Amarnath Cave Shrine in Jammu and Kashmir is famous for the Swayambhu Shivling and is visited by more than 400,000 pilgrims in the months of July and August. Earlier there was no mobile connectivity on 30 km trek from Chandanwari camp or 15 km from Baltal to the CaveTemple. Now BSNL has installed mobile towers between the base camp at Chandanwari as well as on the alternative route from Baltal to ensure that thousands of devotees who visit the shrine stay connected. Pilgrims, including women, virtually remained cut off from their family members for days till they return to the base camp.
