Monthly Shivratri Dates in 2017 – Shivaratri Days in a Month for Shivratri Vrat in 2017

Masa Shivaratri, or Mas Shivratri, falls on the Krishna Paksha Chaturdasi of each traditional Hindu lunar month. Below are the monthly dates of Shivratri in 2016. ‘Krishna Paksha’ is the dark fortnight of a lunar month. It is the 14th day after full moon (Purnima) or more easy calculation one or one day before Amavasi. Shiva devotees observe the day with vrat, special prayers and pujas. Some devotees also keep vigil all night as in Mahashivratri.

This is a unique human capacity, revealing, in human nature, a higher dimension of nature than what is revealed in external physical nature.
It is the expression of this higher dimension that manifests itself as the spiritual growth of the child in response to other individuals in society. We call it moral, ethical, and humanistic values. These values are the by-products of that spiritual growth of man. That is why it is called ‘Vikasita Vyaktitva.’
