Story of Sunda and Upasunda – Downfall Due to Infatuation

Sunda and Upasunda were two demon brothers. They were very powerful and ruled over the world. But sexual infatuation caused their downfall. Legend has it that Sunda and Upasunda got the boon that they will never be defeated by Devas, Demons or humans or animals as long as they fought together.

The prosperity of their clan and family depended on the unity among the two brothers.
Together they drove out Devas from heaven. They defeated Indra and ruled the three worlds. They made Amaravati, the capital of Devas, as their new home.
Devas realized that it was impossible to defeat Sunda and Upasunda through force. So they resorted to trickery.
Tilottama, one of the most beautiful Apsaras in heaven, was deputed for the job. She seduced the two brothers. The moment the brothers saw Tilottama, they lost their senses and wanted to make her their wife.

Spirituality Is Simply the Process of Not Identifying With What We Are Not – Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev

First we need to know that the basis of our misery is that we have established ourselves in untruth. We are deeply identified with that which we are not. Somewhere along the way we have gotten identified with things around us. We have got identified with our body and mind. That is the source of suffering.
The whole experience of transcending your limitations must happen within you. If you want to transcend, only if you are truly willing, it can happen. Otherwise no power on earth or in heaven can move you.
Spirituality is simply the process of not identifying with what we are not, to shed the layers of conditioning so that we know what we are NOT. When that is completed, we arrive at something that cannot be discounted. This discovery will be the recognition of divinity, and we will see that there is no reason for misery in the world.
