Shikhandi Form of Shiva: The Emanational Deity of the Shaiva Agamas Within the vast and layered framework of Shaiva theology, Shiva is understood not merely as a singular deity but as an all-pervasive cosmic reality who manifests in countless forms to serve different functions in creation, sustenance, and liberation. Among these manifestations, the Shaiva Agamas describe a group of eight powerful emanational aspects known as the Vidyeshvaras — literally, the Lords of Knowledge or the Masters of Sacred Wisdom.
