Ramana Maharishi Video – Life and Teachings

Ramana Maharishi the man who spread the message of self realization through silence needs no introduction. This 73 minute old video is a good introduction to the life and teachings of Ramana Maharishi. The video is in English. The documentary is titled – Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharishi – The Sage of Arunachala.

The documentary traces the journey of boy Venkataramana to the world renowned Ramana Maharishi and how he continues to guide and inspire all those people are searching for the answer to “Who am I.”

Today is Raksha Bandhan – August 2, 2012

Today – August 2, 2012 – is Raksha Bandhan, a very popular ritual in Hinduism which celebrates brother-sister relationship. On this day, the sister ties ‘Rakhi’ on her brother and who pledge to protect her from any danger. Raksha Bandhan, also known as Rakhi Festival, is observed on the full moon day (Purnima) in Shravan month.
‘Raksha’ means protection, and ‘Bandhan’ here means to tie. On Raksha Bandhan, sisters tie Rakhi, a bracelet made of thread of different colors, on their brothers' wrist. When a girl or woman ties a Rakhi around the hand of a boy or man it means he will protect her from all dangers.
