Chedichery Othayothukandy Madappura temple is located at Chedichery near Irikkur in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Muthappan and other related deities. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for six days in Malayalam Dhanu Masam – Dhanu 5 to Dhanu 10 (December 21 to December 26).
The important theyyams that can be witnessed at Chedichery Othayothukandy Madappura temple are Muthappan theyyam and Thiruvappana.
The shrine is mainly open on Sankranti days as per
traditional Malayalam calendar for important puja and rituals. The temple has a
chathura sreekovil or square sanctum sanctorum of the main deity. Other deities
are worshipped atop square platform exposed to the elements and under trees.
