Mudanthemma theyyam (മുടന്തേമ്മ തെയ്യം) is a very rare theyyam performed during the annual kaliyattam, thira, theyyam festival in Kasaragod region of Kerala. As per information this is a female theyyam. Mudanthemma theyyam story is that of an old woman performing selfless sacrifice for the betterment of the family and region.
The theyyam is unique as it wears a golden mask and uses fresh wines and creepers to cover the body.
Mudanthemma theyyam is annually performed at the Chittarikkal
Kamballur Kottayil Tharavadu Devasthanam temple (October 27 to October 28) in
Kasaragod region of Kerala.
