Kana Yog In Hindu Astrology

Kana Yog, or Kanna Yoga, is considered a bad and inauspicious period in Hindu astrology. This yog is calculated based on nakshatra or birth star. The time period of Kana Yog is till the nakshatra on the particular day.

Kana Yog time period is to be avoided for travels, exams and financial dealings. The time is also not good for the first meeting with a person or family. All kinds of investments, openings etc should be avoided during the time period.

Kana Yoga happens when - 

  • Jyeshta or Kettai or Triketta nakshatra falls on Sunday or Ravivar
  • Abhijit nakshatra falls on Monday or Somvar
  • Purva Bhadrapada or Pooruruttathi nakshatra falls on Tuesday or Mangalvar
  • Bharani nakshatra falls on Wednesday or Budhwar
  • Ardra or Arudhara or Thiruvathira nakshatra falls on Thursday or Guruvar
  • Magha or Makam  nakshatra falls on Friday or Shukrawar
  • Chitra or Chithirai or Chithira nakshatra falls on Saturday or Shanivar.

Kana Yog is present only when the corresponding nakshatra is present on the particular day of a week. The yog ends on the day when the nakshatra period ends.
