Dina Kootta Hindu Astrology – Dina Porutham In Horoscope Matching

Dina Kootta or Dina Porutham in horoscopes based on Hindu astrology is based on the compatibility between the birth stars of the couple. It is usually used by some communities for horoscope matching for marriage. Dina Kuta may be less important if rashi and yoni kuta are present. If the star of the male happens to be 2, 4, 5, 8, 9, 11, 13, 15, 18, 20, 24 or 26, when it is counted from the birth start of the female, this kootta is perfect.

The birth stars of the 8th sign from that of the female are also omitted. However, this may be waived if the lords of the rashis (signs) of the couple are friendly. The six stars – Rohini, Ardra, Pushya, Magha, Hasta and Sravana – are acceptable when both horoscopes are having the same birth stars.

If the male and the female belong to the same sign, the male star should occur first, and if they belong to same star, the male should own the previous pada to that of the female.
