Chilavannoor Ponneth Bhagavathy temple, also known as Ponnethkavu Bhagavathy temple, is located at Chilavannoor in Ernakulam town, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Devi and Shiva. The annual Thalappoli festival is held for seven days in Makaram month (January – February).
This is a typical Kerala style temple complete with temple pond, chuttambalam and shrines of Upa Devatas.
The annual Thalappoli festival is famous for caparisoned elephants, melam, temple arts and procession. The festival concludes with Arattu on Makara Bharani day.
The Makara Bharani day is famous Thookam ritual.
Other important festivals observed in the temple are Shivratri, Navratri, Thrikarthika and Mandala Kalam.
