Chittanda Karthyayani Temple

Chittanda Karthyayani temple is located at Chittanda near Erumapetty in Thrissur district, Kerala. The shrine is one among the 108 Durga temples in Kerala. The deity worshipped in the temple is Goddess Karthyayani Bhagavathi form of Mother Goddess.

The murti of Goddess is Chatur bahu – four armed. She holds Shankh, Chakra, Abhaya Hastam and Kadi Bandham. The darshanam of Chittanda Karthyayani temple is towards east.

The Upa Devatas worshipped in the temple are Ganapathy, Bhadrakali, Sri Krishna and Ayyappa.

The most important festival in the temple is Thrikarthika in Vrishickam month.

As per history, the gopuram of the temple was built by Kottayam Thampuran.

The temple was earlier managed by Mundanattu Mana.
