Dasapushpam meaning ten flowers constitute a group of ten herbs along with their flowers. The ten flowers are of great importance to Hindus in Kerala. They have been part of Hindu religion from time immemorial. They today have many cultural and medicinal uses.

The plant is used during Thiruvathira Kali on the day of Thiruvathira in the Malayalam month of Dhanu. These plants are used to cure various diseases from time immemorial.
Dasapushpam were earlier displayed in a brass plate Karkidakam month (mid July to mid August) in homes, temples and sacred places. This one very good ritual is very rarely performed.
Women were advised by Vaidyans (Ayurveda Physicians) to wear them on their hair.
