Kodanda Rama – About Hindu God Kodandarama

Kodanda Rama is a popular name of Bhagavan Sri Ram in South India. Temples dedicated to Hindu God Kodandarama are found in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The Rama with bow is referred to as Kodanda Rama.


Kodanda Rama is always represented as a royal personage of bewitching beauty, well developed body, having broad eyes, long arms, curly tresses, and auspicious marks.

When represented as the consecrated deity within a temple, Rama is generally seen standing with queen Sita on the left and faithful brother Lakshmana on the right. Ram and Lakshman hold bows and arrows. The bow is called Kodanda.
