Wadeshwar Yatra at Wadhe Village in Satara District of Maharashtra

Wadeshwar Yatra at Wadhe Village is annually observed in Chaitra month. The yatra is an important festival at the Wadeshwar Temple at Wadhe Village in Satara District of Maharashtra. The shrine is dedicated to Wadeshwar, Gram Devata. Wadeshwar Yatra 2024 date is April 13.

Wadeshwar form is associated with Lord Shiva and he is the family deity of many Maharashtra families.

The shrine is decorated with lamps, lights, flowers, leaves and sugarcane for the occasion.

The main ritual includes processions, palkhi and offerings to Wadeshwar.

Hundreds of people participate in the yatra and festivities. The temple remains open during the entire day and different rituals take place.


Wadeshwar Yatra at Wadhe Village is observed on Chaitra Shukla Paksha Panchami Tithi or the fifth day during the waxing phase of moon Chaitra month as per traditional Hindu lunar calendar followed in Maharashtra.
