Rudra Prayag is one among the five confluences along the
Alakananda River in Uttarakhand. It is one of Pancha Prayag. At Rudra Prayag, Mandakini
River joins the Alakananda River. The place is associated with Shiva and Sage
Narada.
The confluence of Mandakini and Alakananda River is
considered a holy spot in Hinduism.
Legend has it that Sage Narada did intense penance to
appease Shiva here. Shiva appeared before him and taught him music here.
