Saptagirisha is one of the names of Venkateswara – the Lord
who resides as Balaji at Tirupati. Saptagirisha means the Lord of Seven Hills.
Balaji resides at Tirupati and is surrounded by seven hills. The Saptagirisha
are:
Seshadri, (Seshachala)
Neeladri, (Vedachala)
Garudadri, (Garudachala)
Vrishabhadri, (Vrishabhachala)
Narayanadri (Narayanachala)
Anjanadri (Anjanachala)
Venkatadri (Venkatachala) – the Venkateswara temple is
located on this hill.
As he resides on the seven hills, Venkateswara is also known
as Saptagirinivasa Sri Venkateshwara Swami.
