Noli Nom Vrat 2017 Date in Shravan Month in Gujarat

Noli Nom Vrat is observed in Shravan month in Gujarat and the vrat is mainly performed by childless couples. Noli Nom 2017 date is August 1. It is observed on the ninth day during the Shukla Paksha or waxing phase of moon in Gujarati Sawan month. The story that is listened to during Noli Nom Vrat is quite similar to the Sheetala Satam Vrat observed later in the same month.

On the Noli Nom day, the husband and wife fast from morning to evening. At night they take food together.
The Vrat is continued annually on the same day till the couple gets a child.

Jageshwar Temple – Shiva Temple at Jageshwar near Almora in Uttarakhand

Jageshwar Mandir is dedicated to Shiva and is located at Jageshwar near Almora in Uttarakhand. Jageshwar is a cluster of nearly 125 temples and is located around 36km northeast of Almora town. Some scholars are of the view that this is a JyotirlingaTemple and it is the Nageshwar Jyotirlinga.

JageshwarTemple is surrounded by very old deodar trees. The temple is believed to have been constructed by the Chand rulers between 8th and 16th century.
The main temple is dedicated to Jageshwar – locally known as Nagesh Daruka Bane, meaning Shiva resides where there is a jungle of Deodar.
There is a popular belief that one can offer prayers to Deodar tree here which is equal to offering prayers to Shiva.
The main Shivling in the temple complex is Swayambhu – of divine origin. There is a wedge between it. Thus it is believed that the Shivling represents both Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The Shivling is also referred as Ardharishwara.
Nandi and Bhringi are the two dwarpalakas of the temple.
