How many times should a devotee go around Ganesha murti in a
Hindu temple? Now this is a perplexing question as there are no written rules.
And the number of times people go around varies from region to region. Circumambulation,
or simply going around, of deity in the sanctum sanctorum is an important part
of temple visit.
But as per majority of pandits, astrologers and pujaris, one
should go around Ganesha in a temple three times.

But there are people who do 3 or 5 or 7. This is also
permitted in many regions.
But one should never do 2 or 4 or 6 circumambulation around
Ganesha.
