Goddess Sucharita Saraswati – Sri Sucharita Saraswati Devi

Goddess Sucharita is a form of Goddess Saraswati that is invoked by devotees to attain insight and understanding. It is believed that praying to this key aspect of Goddess Saraswati during Navratri will help students and professionals in their attempt to garner knowledge. A section of scholars are of the view that the knowledge regarding the concept of Sri Sucharita Saraswati Devi is lost as little is known about this aspect and there are currently no written records. Goddess Sucharita Saraswati is today popularized by some ashrams in South India, who claim to have discovered knowledge of this aspect. Sabarimala Temple October 2017 Monthly Puja – Opening and Closing Dates

SabarimalaTemple opens on the first of every Malayalam month for five days for the monthly poojas. Thousands of Ayyappa devotees make use of this opportunity to visit the Sabarimala shrine to have a hassle free darshan. In October 2017, SabarimalaAyyappaTemple will open on October 16 and will close on October 21 for Thula Masam Puja.

Sri Chitira Attam Thirunnal puja will also be held in this month on October 18, 2016.

Note – Next month in Malayalam calendar is the Vrischika Masam and the Sabarimala Shrine opens for two month long – Mandala Makaravilaku pujas (November 16, 2017 to January 20, 2018.

The main pilgrimage season at Sabarimala shrine is during the Mandala Makaravilakku season (November – January). The period witnesses heavy rush of devotees to the hill shrine.

Thousands of devotees in order to avoid the rush choose the monthly opening period to visit the shrine. There are also several Ayyappa devotees who make it point to visit the shrine every month. The shrine remains open…
