Shravan Purnima 2014 time and date – Full moon day in Sawan Month 2014

Shravan Purnima, or the full moon day in the month of Sawan, is a highly auspicious day in Hinduism. Nariyali Poornima and Raksha Bandhan are observed on the day. The annual Amarnath Yatra and Jhulan Yatra also concludes on the day. Shravan Purnima 2014 date is August 10. The Purnima begins at 2:41 AM on August 10 and ends at 12:13 AM on August 11.

Sawan Poornima also marks the end of holy month Shravan in North India.

This Purnima is known as Gamha Poornima in Orissa. Hayagriva Jayanti and Yajurveda Upakarma are also observed on the day. In South India, Brahmins observe the day as Avani Avittam.
