Once, a man who had fallen into the abyss of bankruptcy decided to leave his village and venture into a foreign land with his family and belongings in search of a new livelihood. One fateful night, the family found themselves stopping at a desolate crematorium. This place was notorious for being teeming with ghosts and malevolent spirits, where even the wind seemed to whisper eerie tales of dread.
As darkness enveloped the land, a fearsome and murderous ghost materialized before the man. With steely resolve and unwavering courage, the man immediately commanded his daughter-in-law to bind the ghost. Without a moment's hesitation, she chased after the ghastly figure with a rope in hand, her heart pounding like a drum but her spirit unyielding.
Next, the man ordered his son and wife to decapitate the ghost. Fueled by determination and the strength of a lion, they both charged at the ghost with a sword and an axe, ready to carry out the task. As they cornered the ghost and prepared to strike, the apparition, now trembling with fear, pleaded for mercy. It promised to reveal the location of five jars filled with gold coins if they spared its life.
Trusting the ghost's desperate plea, the old man was led to the hidden treasure. After taking possession of the newfound wealth, he instructed his family to release the ghost unharmed. Thus, the man and his family returned home, their fortunes reversed, and began to live in comfort and prosperity.
News of the man's sudden wealth spread quickly, stirring envy and suspicion in a neighbor's heart. Driven by jealousy, the neighbor sold his house and land, taking his family to the same haunted crematorium, hoping to replicate the man's success.
As night fell, the ghost reappeared, its malevolent aura more menacing than before. The neighbor, attempting to mimic the brave man's actions, ordered his daughter-in-law to bind the ghost. Paralyzed with fear, she fled into the night. He then commanded his wife and son to cut off the ghost's head, but they too were overcome with terror and ran away.
The man, now alone and trembling like a leaf in a storm, faced the ghost. Seeing their cowardice, the ghost seized the opportunity. With no one left to challenge it, the ghost mercilessly killed the man and his family one by one, leaving their spirits to wander the haunted crematorium.
Thus, the proverb "Even a ghost cannot oppress a mentally and physically strong man" proved true, for it was not just physical strength but also the strength of spirit and mind that had saved the first man and doomed the cowardly neighbor.
