Pattena Mungath Bhagavathy Kavu temple is located at Pattena in Kasaragod district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathi and other related deities. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for two days in Malayalam Thula Masam – Thulam 17 to Thulam 19 (November 2 to November 4).
The important theyyams that can be witnessed at Pattena Mungath Bhagavathy Kavu temple are Poomaruthan theyyam, Raktha Chamundi theyyam, Vishnumoorthi theyyam, Padarkulangara Bhagavathi theyyam, Gulikan theyyam, Cheralath Bhagavathy theyyam and Achan Daivam. This is a small shrine with a chathura sreekovil – square
sanctum sanctorum. The walls and roof of the shrine are traditionally
decorated. There are other smaller sreekovils. Some deities are worshipped on square platforms and under trees.
Vishu is an important festival here. Sankranti in every month is of great
significance.
