Kuttamath Ponmalam Sri Vishnumurthy temple is located at Kuttamath in Kasaragod district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Chamundi, Vishnumoorthi and numerous other deities. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for three days in Malayalam Thula Masam – Thulam 21 to Thulam 23 (November 7 to November 9).
Important theyyams that can be witnessed at Kuttamath Ponmalam Sri Vishnumurthy temple are Thee Chamundi or Ottakolam, Raktha Chamundi theyyam, Angakulangara Bhagavathi, and Vishnumoorthi theyyam.
This is a small shrine with a chathura sreekovil for the
main deity. The roof of the shrine is traditionally decorated. There are other
smaller sreekovils and raised platforms for other deities. Certain deities are
worshipped under trees. Sankranti in a Malayalam month is of great importance.
