Kunnavu Sree Muchilottu Bhagavathi temple is located at Kunnav near Chirakkal Palikaunnu in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Muchilot Bhagavathy. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for four days in Malayalam Dhanu Masam – Dhanu 25 to Dhanu 28 (January 7 to 10).
Important theyyams that can be witnessed at Kunnavu Sree Muchilottu Bhagavathi temple are Muchilottu Bhagavathi theyyam, Kannangattu Bhagavathy theyyam, Puliyoor Kali theyyam and Narambil Bhagavathy theyyam.
This is a small shrine with a chathura sreekovil for the
main deity. The roof of the shrine is traditionally decorated. There are other
smaller shrines here. Some deities are worshipped atop square platforms and
under trees. Sankranti in a Malayalam month is of great importance.
