Athiyal Theru Chooliyar Bhagavathi temple is located at Vellikkoth near Ajanur in Kasaragod district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Chooliyar Bhagavathi. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for two days in Malayalam Thula Masam – Thulam 22 and Thulam 23 (November 7 to November 8).
The important theyyams that can be witnessed at Vellikkoth Athiyal Theru Ancharillam Tharavadu temple are Chooliyar Bhagavathi theyyam, Gulikan theyyam, Padaveeran theyyam, Moovalamkuzhi Chamundi theyyam, Kundor Chamundi theyyam, Padinjare Chamundi theyyam and Vishnumoorthi theyyam.
The shrine has a chathura sreekovil or square sanctum
sanctorum for the main deities. There are other smaller sreekovils. Upa devatas
are worshipped atop square platforms and under trees. Sankranti is an important
day in a month in the temple.
