Achamthuruthi Sree kalichanamma Devastanam temple, also known as Sree Palichon Devasthanam temple, is located at Achamthuruthy Island in Kasaragod district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Palichon Daivam. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for three days in Malayalam Makara Masam – Makaram 1 to Makaram 3 (January 15 to January 17).
The important theyyams that can be witnessed at Achamthuruthi Sree Palichon Devasthanam temple are Palichon Daivam theyyam, Karikkalon Devan, Pulapottan and Pola Chamundi.
Important pujas and rituals are performed on Sankranti day
as per Malayalam calendar. The temple has a chathura sreekovil or square
sanctum sanctorum for the main deity. Some deities are worshipped under trees
and atop small square platforms. There are other small square sanctums for
other deities.
