Jambukeswarar Temple at Thiruvanaikaval near Trichy is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is one of the temples in which Shiva is worshipped as element of nature – one of the Panchabhoota Temples. The annual festival in the temple is held in Panguni Masam (March 14 to April 13). Thiruvanaikaval Temple Festival lasts for nearly 41 days.
An important event during the festival is the Therottam and
it is held on the Revathi nakshatra day in Panguni month. Thiruvanaikaval

and Velli Rishaba Vahanam (A held a day before therottam.
Another important ritual is Vellai Saatri. Panchaprakara
Vizha and Chaya Abhishekam are two other important rituals during the festival
period.
