Kottam Kollanandy Muthappan Madappura temple is located at Kottamnear Mambaram in Kannur, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated t Muthappan and a host of deities that are worshipped in the tharavadu and kavu in the region. The annual kaliyattam theyyam festival is held for two days in Malayalam Thula masam (Thulam 25 to Thulam 26) – November 11 and November 12).
The important theyyams that are part of the annual Thira theyyam – kaliyattam festival at Kottam Kollanandi Madappura temple are Manathana Pothi theyyam, Muthappan theyyam, and Karanavar theyyam.
The temple has a main chathura sreekovil for the main deity.
Other deities that are popularly worshipped in tharavadu, kavu and temples in
Kannur region are worshipped in square platforms and small sreekovil. Yearly Vishu
and monthly Sankranti days are important in the temple.
