800-Year-Old Ganesha Idol Unearthed At Pedda Golconda Near Hyderabad India

An ancient Ganapati idol believed to be more than 800 years old was unearthed near Pedda Golconda village near Hyderabad, India. It is believed that the murti belongs to the Kalyani Chalukya era (12th century CE).

The murti of Ganesha has two hands, holding danta (tooth) and modaka (sweet). The murti is adorned with simple ornaments and is seated in Lalithasana posture.
