Valapattanam Muchilottu Kavu temple is located at Valapattanam in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Muchilottu Bhagavathy. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for five days in Makara Masam – Makaram 11 to Makaram 15 (January 25 to January 29).
The temple has a traditionally decorated chathura sreekovil – square sanctum sanctorum. The are other smaller sreekovils for minor deities. Some important deities are worshipped atop square platforms and under trees. Sankranti in every month is of great importance. Vishu is an important festival.
