Thadri Festival is observed by Sindhi community and is observed seventh day during the waning phase or dark phase of moon in Bhadrapad month. Thadri Festival 2024 date August 25. Thadri is dedicated to Goddess Jog Maya. Food prepared on the previous day is consumed on the day. Curds and pickles are eaten on the day. The ritual is like the famous Sheetala Ashtami and Basoda festival. A similar ritual Shitala Satam is observed in Gujarat in Shravan month.
Food items like Lola, paratha, koki etc., are prepared on the
previous and the whole family consumes it cold on the Thadri day.
In ancient times, food for Thadri was prepared on traditional
wooden stove.
