Naravoor Chathadimanakkal Kavu temple is located at Naravoor near Kuthuparamba in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Muthappan, Chamundi and other related deities commonly worshiped in temples in the region. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for three days in Malayalam Kumbha Masam – Kumbham 8 to Kumbham 10 (February 20 to Feb 22).
The main deity is worshipped in a chathura sreekovil –
square sanctum sanctorum – which has a traditionally decorated roof and walls
with religious motifs. Certain deities are worshipped on square platforms and
under trees. Some deities have small sreekovil (s). Vishu is an important
festival here. Sankranti in every Malayalam month is of great significance.
The important theyyams that can be worshipped at Naravoor
Chathadimanakkal Kavu temple are Muthappan theyyam, Kathia Chamundi, Manthana
Pothi, Sasthappan, Thekkan Gulikan, Thiruvappana and Vasoorimala theyyam.
