Kuyiloor Puthiya Bhagavathi Kavu temple is located at Kuyilur near Mattanur in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Puthiya Bhagavathy. The annual temple theyyam kaliyattam thira festival is held for three days in Malayalam Kumbha Masam – Kumbham 1 to Kumbha 3 (February 13 to Feb 15).
This is a small shrine with a square sanctum sanctorum (chathura sreekovil) for the main deities. The roof and walls are traditionally decorated. Other deities are worshipped in smaller chathura sreekovil. Some deities are worshiped atop raised square platforms. Certain deities are worshiped under trees. Sankranti in every Malayalam month is of significance here. Vishu festival is of importance here.
