Kinathil Sree Unnikrishnan Temple – Udinur – Kasaragod

Kinathil Sree Unnikrishnan temple is located at Kinathil near Udinur in Kasaragod district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Unnikrishna (Baby Sri Krishna). The deity is popularly and lovingly referred to as Venna Krishnan.

The temple has a beautiful square sanctum sanctorum – chathura sreekovil. The walls and the roof the main sanctum are decorated with traditional Hindu religious motifs. The temple has a beautiful and well-maintained pond. The shrine is a chuttambalam, namaskara mandapam and balikallu.


Important offerings in the temple are butter and pal payasam.

As per history, the murti of Bhagavan Unni Krishnan was consecrated by Narada Muni.

Thursdays and Sundays are of great importance here. Sri Krishna Janmashtami falling in Malayalam Chingam Masam is of great importance. Vishu (April 14 or April 15), the zodiac new year in Kerala, is another important festival here.
