Adoor Sree Panachikkavu Temple is located at Adoor near Kadachira in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathi and numerous other deities that are part of worship in kavu and tharavadu in the region. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for three days in Malayalam Kumbha Masam – Kumbham 8 to Kumbham 10 (February 20 to Feb 22).
The main deity is worshipped in a chathura sreekovil – square sanctum sanctorum – which has a traditionally decorated roof and walls with religious motifs. Vishu is an important festival here. Sankranti in every Malayalam month is of great significance.
The important theyyams that can be witnessed at the shrine
are Aryappoonkani theyyam, Bappooran theyyam, Guru Karnavar theyyam, Nagakanya
theyyam, Thai Paradevatha theyyam and Thekkan Gulikan theyyam.
