Pantheeradi puja is an important pooja held in Hindu temples in Kerala. The ritual is also held in many temples in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, many parts of India and world. So, what is pantheeradi pooja?
Pantheeradi denotes the time at which the puja is to be conducted, i.e. between two to three hours after sunrise when the human shadow measures 12 feet.
This is usually held around 8 AM. The time of puja varies from region to region as it depends on sunrise.
A sumptuous meal consisting of various dishes is served in certain temple at Pantheeradi puja. In some temples, there are no elaborate meals.
