Thimiri Meloth Kottumburam Dharmasastha Chamundeshwari temple is located at Thimiri near Cheruvathoor in Kasaragod district of Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Dharmasastha, Mother Goddess Chamundi and Nagas. The shrine is also dedicated to numerous deities that are worshipped in tharavadu and kavu in the region. The annual theyyam – kaliyattam – thira festival is held for three days in Malayalam Meda Masam – (Medam 15 to Medam 17) (April 28 to April 30).
The shrine is an important abode of Madayil Chamundi and Bhairava form of Mahadeva Shiva.
The important theyyams that are performed in the temple are Kalabhairava,
Pookutti Sasthappan, Rakta Chamundi, Thiruvarkkattu Bhagavathi, Madayil
Chamundi, Vishnumoorthi theyyam, Angakulangara Bhagavathi and Madayil Chamundi.
The Madayil Chamundi theyyam performs numerous rituals including kozhi chavuttu,
choottatam, Kuruthi samarpanam, meeting with Valiya Valappil Chamundi and Thirumudi
thazhthal during evening puja.

The shrine performs Naga pujas during important dates as per
Malayalam calendar. Mandala Kalam is observed from November 16 to December 27
every year. Prathishta Dinam in the temple is held on Edavam 9 (May 23).

ശേഷമാണ് കര്‍ഷകര്‍ കൃഷിയിറക്കുക. പഴമക്കാര്‍ കൈമാറിയ ആചാരം പതിവ് തെറ്റിക്കാതെ നിലനിര്‍ത്തിപ്പോരുന്നു. വയലേലകളില്‍ ഐശ്വര്യവും സമൃദ്ധിയും വിതറി കൃഷി സംരക്ഷിക്കുമെന്നാണ് വിശ്വാസം. തിമിരിവയലിലെ
പ്രത്യേകം തയ്യാറാക്കിയ പാടത്താണ് ചടങ്ങുകള്‍ നടന്നത്. കുരുത്തോലകൊണ്ടുള്ള തിരുമുടിയും അരയാടയും ചെമ്പട്ടുമണിഞ്ഞ് ചെണ്ടമേളത്തോടൊപ്പമാണ് തെയ്യം വയലിലിറങ്ങുന്നത്. വിത്ത് വിതച്ച തെയ്യം. താഴേക്കാട്ട് മനയും പൂവളപ്പും സന്ദര്‍ശിക്കും. ഉച്ചയോടെ കാലിച്ചോന്‍തെയ്യവും പുറപ്പെട്ടു. ഇതോടെ വയലില്‍ പുതിയൊരു കൃഷിപ്പണിക്കാലത്തിന് തുടക്കമായി. വിതയ്ക്കുന്ന തെയ്യങ്ങളുടെ കെട്ടിയാട്ടം കഴിഞ്ഞെത്തുന്ന നാളുകളിലാണ് കാവുകള്‍ ഉണരുന്ന പത്താമുദയം. താഴേക്കാട്ട് മനയുടെ അധീനതയിലായിരുന്നു പണ്ട് ഏക്കറുകളോളംപരന്നുകിടക്കുന്ന തിമിരി പ്രദേശം. വിശാലമായ ഈ നെല്‍വയല്‍ സംരക്ഷിക്കാനുള്ള ഉത്തരവാദിത്വം വലിയവളപ്പില്‍ ചാമുണ്ഡിക്കായിരുന്നുവെന്നാണ്
