Payyannur Kelothu Sree Porkkali Bhagavathy temple is located at Payyannur in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Porkkali Bhagavathy and other important deities that are worshipped in kavu, tharavadu and sacred places in the region. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for two days in Malayalam Kumbha Masam – Kumbham 21 and Kumbham 22 (March 5 and March 6).
The main shrine is a rectangular sanctum sanctorum – deergha chathura sreekovil with a beautiful traditional roof. The walls too are decorated traditionally. There are other similar sreekovils and smaller structures. Some deities are worshipped on square platforms and under trees. Vishu is an important festival here. Sankranti in each Malayalam month if of great significance.
