Chennalath Bhagavathy Theyyam – Story – Information

Chennalath Bhagavathy theyyam kolam is a rare theyyam seen during the annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival in Kannur and Kasaragod regions of Kerala. As per information, the theyyam is a ferocious form of Goddess Bhagavathy. Sankalpam is that of Goddess Maha Kali. As per Chennalath Bhagavathy theyyam story, the theyyam made its appearance in a tharavadu and the deity was given a place of worship. To keep the ferocious Goddess happy and to avoid untoward incidents a theyyam is performed annually.

Chennalath Bhagavathy blesses devotees with peace, prosperity and good health. She is also propitiated to defeat enemies and to overcome fear.
