Kozhimanna Ramapuram Rama Temple is located at Chathamangalam – Poolacode in Kozhikode district, Kerala. The shrine has a history for more than 1000 years. As per local belief, Bhagavan Sri Rama is believed to have rested while on his search for Sita. The temple is based on Ramayana.
As per history, the murti worshipped in the temple was retrieved
from a well in the Chathamangalam area. British government had closed the temple
and taken away its wealth for not paying taxes. The temple was taken back by Pathisseri
Sankaran Namboothiri and puna prathishta was performed.
There is a belief that devotees should chant Hanuman Ashtakam and enter the temple.
The main deity worshipped in the temple is Bhagavan Sri
Rama. The upa devatas worshipped in the temple are Hanuman, Ayyappa and Goddess
Bhagavathi.
The main offering in the temple is Kadumpayasam and Avil.
It is believed that offering Kadumpayasam and Avil on Thursdays
or Saturdays for seven consecutive weeks will help in achieving desire
fulfillment. The same offering is made in Karkidakam Masam for overcoming Shani
related problems in horoscope (especially Kandaka Shani).
