Arathil Bhagavathi temple is located at Kayalode in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathi – Devi. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for three days in Malayalam Meena Masam – Meenam 13 to Meenam 15 (March 27 to March 29).
This is a small shrine with a chathura sreekovil – square
sanctum sanctorum. The temple has a well-maintained small pond.
The important theyyams that can be witnessed at Arathil Bhagavathi temple are Arathil Bhagavathy theyyam, Bhootham theyyam, Gulikan, Kakkara Bhagavathy theyyam, Kelangulangara Bhagavathy theyyam, Vishnumoorthi theyyam, Pazhassi Bhagavathy theyyam and Kuttichathan theyyam.
