Pulli Chamundi Theyyam kolam (പുള്ളിച്ചാമുണ്ഡി) is a rare theyyam performed during the annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival in Kannur and Kasaragod regions of Kerala. As per information, this theyyam falls under the category of yakshi theyyams. As per Pulli Chamundi theyyam story, this is a ferocious form of a semidivine being. It is known to carry away children and livestock. As per some stories, this divine being kills and eats children and livestock. To keep it away from people and livestock, a theyyam is performed annually. It is believed that when the theyyam is performed, Pulli Chamundi does not harm people.
The theyyam is performed by the Velan community.
