Pannikkur Chamundi theyyam (പന്നിക്കൂര്‍ ചാമുണ്ഡി) is a rare theyyam performed during the annual Kaliyattam, thira , theyyam festival in Kasaragod region of Kerala. As per information, this is a theyyam based on Varahi or boar sankalpam. As per Pannikkur Chamundi theyyam story, Mahadeva Shiva performed a yajna and seven deities appeared from it. Pannikkur Chamundi was one of the deities appeared from the yajna. The theyyam later before the head of a prominent tharavad of the region. She protects the family from ill health and demons. She appears to protect livestock which are attacked by supernatural beings. To keep her calm and not to cause destruction she was given an aaroodam or worship place. A theyyam is performed annually keep her content and happy and to seek her blessings.
This theyyam can be witnessed at Kasargod Kanhangad Pullur Kodavalam Mahavishnu temple from November 17 to November 18.

ബഹളം വയ്ക്കുകയും മുടി കൊണ്ട് അടിക്കുകയും
ഒക്കെ ചെയ്യും. ഇതെല്ലാം കഴിഞ്ഞ ശേഷം ശാന്തമായിരുന്ന്‍ ഭക്തര്‍ക്ക്
അനുഗ്രഹം കൊടുക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.
മലയന്‍, വേലന്‍, മാവിലന്‍, കോപ്പാളന്‍, പമ്പത്താര്‍ എന്നീ ജാതിക്കാരാണ് ഈ തെയ്യം കെട്ടുന്നത്.
ചില കാവുകളില്‍ ദേവിക്ക് പ്രതീകാത്മകമായി മൃഗ ബലി നടത്താറുണ്ട്‌.
