Bhagavan Sri Ram Worshipped With Moustache

It is very rare to see Bhagavan Sri Ram murti with beard or moustache. But the murti of Bhagavan Sri Rama worshipped at Ramrajatala Ram Sita Temple has a moustache. Ramrajatala (also known as Ramraja Tala or Ram Raja Tala is located on the southern part of Howrah city and is one of the oldest localities of Howrah.

The temple is more than 250 years old and a traditional fair, rituals and puja is held for nearly three months here starting from Ramnavami to the last Sunday of Shravan month. The temple is also famous for Durga Puja festival.

The temple has murtis of several deities from Hindu religion and also saints.

The murti of Bhagavan Sri Ram is flanked by Mata Sita. There are murtis of Shiva, Sri Krishna, Vishnu, Goddess Saraswati, various forms of Goddess Durga and Kali.
