Kurampala Perumpaloor Temple – Festival

Kurampala Perumpaloor temple is located at Kurampala – Perumpaloor near Pandalam in Pathanamthita district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Mother Goddess Shakti (Bhagavathy or Devi). The annual festival in the temple is held on the Thrikarthika nakshatra day in Malayalam Vrischika Masam (November – December).

This is a beautiful Kerala style temple with a chathura sreekovil, namaskara mandapam, shrines of upa devatas and chuttambalam.

The annual festival in the temple is famous for Pongala, ashtamangalya Maha Ganapathi homam, sopana sangeetham, Devi Bhagavata Prayanam, Kettukazhcha, seva, temple art forms, Gurusi and yethirelppu valiya kanikka.

A major highlight of the Karthika festival is the lighting of thousands of lamps in the evening around the temple.

The shrine also observes various other festivals including Navratri, prathishta dinam, Vishu, Mandala Kalam, and Thiruvonam.
