Kooduvettikal Gurukalkavu temple is located at Kooduvettikal, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Mother Goddess Shakti (Bhagavathy or Devi). The Thrikartika festival in the temple is held in Malayalam Vrischika Masam (November – December) and is of great importance.
This is a beautiful Kerala style small temple with a chathura sreekovil and shrines of upa devatas.
The annual festival in the temple is famous for various rituals, pujas and temple art forms. At night the space in and around the temple is lit with thousands of traditional lamps.
The shrine also observes various other festivals including Navratri, prathishta dinam, Vishu, Mandala Kalam, and Thiruvonam.
