Lumbak Yog In Hindu Astrology

Lumbak Yog is considered a bad and inauspicious period in Hindu astrology. This yog is calculated based on nakshatra or birth star. The time period of Lumbak Yog is till the nakshatra on the particular day.

Lumbak Yog time period is to be avoided for travels, exams and financial dealings. The time is also not good for the first meeting with a person or family. All kinds of investments, openings etc should be avoided during the time period.

Lumbak Yoga happens when - 
  1. Swathi or Chothi nakshatra falls on Sunday or Ravivar
  2. Mool or Moolam nakshatra falls on Monday or Somvar
  3. Shravan or Sravana or Thiruvonam nakshatra falls on Tuesday or Mangalvar
  4. Uttara Bhadrapada or Uthrattathi nakshatra falls on Wednesday or Budhwar
  5. Krittika or Karthigai or Karthika nakshatra falls on Thursday or Guruvar
  6. Punarvasu or Punartham nakshatra falls on Friday or Shukravar
  7. Purva Phalguni or Pooram nakshatra falls on Saturday or Shanivar.

Lumbak Yog is present only when the corresponding nakshatra is present on the particular day of a week. The yog ends on the day when the nakshatra period ends.
